Hey — I'm Sam. I work in telecoms by day and spend my evenings and weekends pulling apart gadgets, setting up servers, and generally acquiring more gear than is probably sensible.
I started this site because I got tired of reviews written by people who'd had a product for 48 hours before a press embargo lifted. Everything here is stuff I've actually bought with my own money, lived with for a while, and formed a proper opinion on.
What I write about
- Home Automation — Mostly Home Assistant, smart switches, sensors and the occasional rabbit hole that ate my entire weekend
- Homelabs — Self-hosted services, NAS boxes, mini PCs, networking gear
- 3D Printing — Printers, filament, mods and the prints that actually turned out useful
- Photography & Video — Cameras, lenses, lighting, stabilisers — whatever I'm currently obsessing over
- Tools & Home Renovation — Power tools, hand tools, anything that makes DIY less painful
- Gaming Accessories — Controllers, headsets, peripherals — the stuff that actually makes a difference
